AnnieO
I need to replace the catalytic converter on my 1998 Honda Accord which as 90,000 miles. The dealer is quoting me $630 for parts and labor. Is this a good price or should I look somewhere else? Is it worth it to pay a little more ot make sure it's done right at the dealer?
CleanGSR
That's really high. Just get a catco and have a muffler shop install it. That should run you less than $200.
SolLesHonda
Yeah, or if you want a hi-flow, Random Technologies makes a good one for about $250, and then labor should cost about $50. Hi-flow will give a better sound and a little more power.
dfj240
I replaced the cat on my 95 and the cat itself was $75 and labor was $35.. Never have a dealer do anything to your car.. They charge WAY TOO MUCH!!

dfj240
Yeah I bought the Cat off a shop locally and then had a muffler shop put it on for me.. No hookups or discounts at all.. It was a brand new cat too..
