sohcVTEC-E
How many miles did you have on the turboed D16. I'm thinking about buying a turbo kit for my D however, I have 101,800 and I am worried that my engine wouldn't last much longer if I boosted it. SexyH22
its just finally getting broekn in. 100,000 isnt bad at all, i built a kit for my del sol that had 90,000 then i wrecked it. you'll be fine, just do fuel w/ the kit.
SolLesHonda
Thanks solles. Anyway, Sexy is right. If you build the motor, and get all of the proper fuel and EMS upgrades, you will be all set to go.

SexyH22
he ran alot, personally, i wouldnt suggest going over 12 or so w/ a stock botom end.
SolLesHonda
On a stock bottom end of a D, the most I would run is 12, just like sexy said. I wouldn't even run that much if you don't have ARP bolts and Hondata. If you build the bottom end, you're safe for 25 psi, easily with a good conservative tune. TS John
Expect the unexpected, man. You know what I never saw coming? When you got my thread closed about my planning for car mods. I'm not mad or anything, especially since you and SolLes already had given me lots of helpful feedback. It just came out of nowhere. Like, I came back from classes that day and it was like "bam." I just reread it and it's so abrupt it's funny. Sorry to make this thread go off topic. I suggest we don't lock it, since the guy who started it might still need advice. SexyH22
yeah i was pissed that day cause vr was locking everything.
TS John
I thought it was weird how it took him more than a week to lock the argument in SolLes' wrecked del sol thread and then all at once he went on a rampage.
SexyH22
i dont see what the big deal it. like it jsut gets old yeah, but off topic discussion shouldnt be locked. the arguments should though

sohcVTEC-E
SolLes- Another question. I read your post about turboing a car but I had a question about exhaust setups. Right now I have a 2.25". Do you think that would be too constricting to run boost?
SolLesHonda
Nah, not at all, well, depending on the boost amount. I had a 2.5 inch for a while, and opted to get the 3". Granted I was running daily on 14 psi. Seriously, run the setup list by me, and I'll help you out.

Anyways, I went to autopartswarehouse.com and found this Turbonetics kit. "Kit Includes Ceramic Ball Bearing Turbocharger, Spearco Intercooler System, Powder-Coated Intercooler Piping, Silicone Hose / T-Bolt Clamps, Exhaust Manifold - high carbon cast-steel with ceramic coating, Fuel / Timing Controller, Fuel Injectors, "Evolution" Wastegate Assembly, "Raptor" By Pass / Blow Off Valve Assembly, Mandrel-bent ceramic coated, Downpipe with closed-loop wastegate discharge & Intake System with Air Filter." sohcVTEC-E
Scroll to the second one. It's $3,693.10. They don't really give you a great picture to work with.
EH6TunerDaniel
I know im not solles or anything, but i wouldnt get that kit, it seems expensive, espescially for an extra 85 hp.
