Noname_com Posted August 4, 2006 Share Posted August 4, 2006 I bought this for 12,000 it has 80,000 miles on it. Its fully loaded leather sunroof and the works. The car drives great. I am getting this for a work car to commute 40 miles a day and the price of gas is killing me on my 2500hd CrewCab chevy with a 8.1L (496) gas motor. I am figuring 10 miles a gallong to an average of 25 to a gallon. the difference will pay for the car note and insurance of the accord. I figure this to be an investment due to this car holding its value. I added 100,000 miles to the Kelly BB value and it dropped the value only 1500.00 I am wandering this. I have herd about the tranny problem in these cars. I knopw honda extended it for 7yr/100 thou I have 1 1/2 yr/ 20 thou left. I have been reading and the trannys on most peoples are going out between 15 thou and 60 thous due the the weaker bearing in the tranny. I am wandering if I made it past the period of worries or not. ALSO I checked on a price for a new tranny and they are remans from honda are 1750.00 with a 3yr/36 thou warranty. it was 800 for them to install it but these are not that bad to install. Is there anything that might help to prevent these trannies from going out, can a tranny place just replace that weak bearing. just a few questions I have 5 days to return the car for a full refund.
