southern oregon
I bought my 18 year old daughter an 1989 Accord LX-i.She came home last night from work and said it took her 10 minutes to get the shifter out of "Park".I went out this morning and after starting it,I went through the gears, than it got stuck in park for me also, also I could not remove the key from ignition. After jiggling it around for awhile I was finally able to remove the key. Also, next to shifter is a little slot labeled "automatic shift lock release"What is this and could this be the problem with the shifter? she needs her car for both college and her part-time job,any help would be hugely appreciated! Thanks in advance for any help. Kegger
On the shift-lock release just push the key down in there and try ro move the shifter. It should unlock the tranny.
