nklimek
ok, so i have a 2000 honda accord v6. At 104000 miles me and my buddy did a timing belt change and i used a belt from autozone(probably a bad idea). THen the other night i was driving down the highway on cruse at 65mph and the timing belt jumped teeth and ripped a hole in the belt cover. THis was only 5 thouand miles after i changed the belt. We took the covers and stuff of and found out that the bolt that holds the belt tensioner on had broken and the pulley fell off. I think the bolt broke because the hydraulic piece that pushes the tensioner felt locked up!! Y would it lock up??? any advice is appreciated
cranny
sounds like it was too tight to me. if there too tight it puts a crap kicking on the tensioner.

ITS AN AUTOMATIC TENSIONER, SO I THINK IT WAS LOCKED UP BECAUSE IT IS frackED UP.
Spoonkid
the only belts that should be used on Honda's are Gates belts... not Autozone garbage...

Kastigir
Should've replaced the tensioner when you replaced the belt.
