compuvision02
Cranny, you are right, X-Pipes are illegal, but so is just modifying your exhaust or your headers. Although, you can get through visual inspection with them, you can with a X-Pipe as well, as long as you have catalytic converters and pipes out the back. Cops are the ones to worry about. Mustangs have stock H-Pipes, if I am remembering correctly, and X-Pipes are as easy as a Y-Pipe for F-Bodies. They may make them for F-Bodies, but I really don't remember ever seeing a X-Pipe you can buy that is "made" for a a F-Body, since the exhaust lines underneath do not run anything like that, it will still hang low like a X-Pipe. Pyrorocketeer
why is an x pipe illegal?
compuvision02
Well, any modified exhaust is illegal, but most X-Pipes are catless, as are a lot of Y-Pipes. They are all illegal, if you get catalytic converters, it should be considered legal.

Ben.
A lot of states don't check for them though. Florida being one.
