susej Posted September 5, 2007 Share Posted September 5, 2007 I learned how to reset the SRS light with a jump wire. I did it exactly as was recommended (twice) and each time it come on and go off and come back on and then blink twice and go back off - it is here that it was supposed to stay off, but mine came back on. James Matteu Posted September 5, 2007 Share Posted September 5, 2007 The jump wire "codes" your SRS. The jump wire closes the SRS circuit between the dash warning light and the SRS code stored in the SRS unit. The sequence of flashes corresponds to a specific code in your Service Manual. The code should correspond to whatever problem you are having unless you have an old code stored. To clear the SRS without a computer, which I assume you don't have given your reference to a jumper wire, you need to pull the SRS fuse and wait 7 seconds before reconnecting same. Disconnecting the battery is unnecessary and sloppy. It is not as savy as pulling the one fuse devoted to the SRS computer; additionally, you will avoid having to put the security code back into your Honda head unit (radio).
