skivy05
I have an 06 V6 accord that I recently switched to an K&N Filter. Since then I have noticed very bad gas milage....... Please help as to what I need to do or if this could even be the issue Seems odd that a Filter claiming to improve milage is actually hurting it. * Only thing I have not done... was disconnect the battery to help the ECU read the change.... could this be the issue ??? Car has 24,000 & we have always put the 87/89 Octane gas in it. No other mods. Thanks in advance Scot
chris_agu28
That is weird. I would think the car could breath easier, so it would not work as hard. But yet more air could be coming in and the ecu might be thinking more air coming in and it has to put more fuel in to mix well with more increase in air. But that is me thinking logically
James Matteu
Take the filter off, put the OEM setup back on and see if there is any change.
skivy05
I was thinking along the same line about the ECU reading more air & dumping more fuel than needed...... I'll pull the battery cable today & see how that works...... if nothing helps... guess I'll go back to OEM filter & less torque/HP....... Thanks guys for the advice. scot
90IntegraC1
Your K&N Filter didn't do much anyway....maybe 1-2 hp... Sell it and get an OEM filter.

I love how most I/H/E mods aren't able to increase the area under the power curve, but simply move the area around (add to top-end while robbing low-end).
