rwd conversion

Recommended Posts

look. you say you want to learn about hondas yet youre willing to tear apart a car and strip it of anything closely related to honda and turn it into a rwd v8 powered domestic muscle car of sorts.

hondas are known for making power with tinker toy motors and still being fuel friendly.

you wanna do something most people havent seen.

buy a 2002 honda insight, ya know, the hybrid.

do a k20 swap into it. then turbocharge it.

the car weighs 1800 lbs soaking wet. ive seen a k20 swapped one, but ive never seen anyone attempt and k20 and turbo.

that will be something that maybe only a handful of people have done. so its unique.

Read Rick. The guy didn't say anything in his original post about a V8. He wanted to know if there were any tranny's, driveshafts, rearends that could be made to work with his engine to make it RWD. Everybody is dogging this guy when he is just asking a legitimate question....if he is new to hondas, how would you expect him to know this? Ford Focus has a 5.0 rwd conversion kit so it's not unheard of to think that their might be a way to convert a honda whether with the stock engine or otherwise.

Short answer is no....there's a RWD mid engine teg out there and the guy spent thousands of hours and probably about 2 years to get everything converted and running right. A complete S2000 conversion could work but would also be very, very difficult. Your best bet is to just buy something like an S2k if you want a rear wheel drive honda.
