Dualnames
I been having this problem ever since I bought the car, the previous owners had the problem to. I can live with it but I don't want to be so hard on the engine and transmission. What it is doing is not shifting when it should, I have to lift off the gas to make it shift, when it hits a high enough RPM how ever it will shift most of the time. Any one ever experience this? Turtlehead
It could possibly be either one of the shifting solinoids or an issue with the torque converter. Beyond that, there can be other problems, and if it comes to that it is worth just getting a low mileage transmission from a salvage yard and paying to have it replaced (labor should be around 5.5 hours) if you want to calculate... If it is in a low rust region (unlike myself) then it could be a little less.
