hiemsnox
So my "new to me" 94 del sol, the vtec isnt working, i tried swapping the solenoid with the one from my 95, which i know works... didnt fix the problem, so im kinda lost as to what to check next. and the only thing i noticed that was different from the two care was that the 95 plug fit with the bung of the 94... but the 94 plug didnt fit in the 95 bung. also on the 94(the one that isnt working) under where the soleniod fits there is this button like thing with a small hole in it.. its sticking out a little bit and can be pressed in but comes right back out... but on the 95(the one that is working) that little button things just stays down... Please help and thank you

DelSolSweetie
1) Make sure your driving it.. it won’t crossover in neutral 2) Make sure oil level and oil pressure are good 3) Make sure car is at normal operating temperature 4) Make sure there is no check engine light 5) Make sure your speedo is working 5) Make sure wires/plugs are tight or wired correctly 6) Make sure vtec solenoid is clean 7) Make sure you have a vtec enabled ecu 8 ) Make sure you actually have a vtec engine If you can not HEAR it clearly that does not mean it is not working. Get a test light and check it.

Exactly what you said it was: the new to you car. You haven't owned it long enough to know everything about it yet.
