ar15guy Posted December 7, 2011 Share Posted December 7, 2011 Has anyone done a swap of a 2011 v6 accord engine/tranny into a 1998 or similar accord v6? My friend is contemplating this swap. I'm kinda on the fence because of the work involved and if it will mean more fabrication than I'd like to tackle. I mainly would like to know if it is a direct fit or would it not even drop in the engine bay without heavy mods. Is there going to be major rerouting of cables from the engine through the firewall. Is it even worth it in your opinion. Lastly, and most important i guess, is the tranny going to fit smoothly in the space? I work mainly on fords and have done simple swaps from 6 to 8 cylinders but all have been with similar or near similar years. A car 10 years or more I feel may not even be worth it. Raley Posted December 8, 2011 Share Posted December 8, 2011 i have not done the swap. wiring will not be the same for sure, i dunno what other differences there are though. probably mounts, axles, and possible a bashing/cutting of metal somewhere....
