sachonda
Hi everyone, brand new here. I need some tips, advice, things to look for, things to do, not to do. Replacing the water pump and drive belts on a 2002 Accord V6. How long does this take? Should this be done by a mechanic? Is it wise for me to attempt this? definitely not a mechanic but I know my way under my hood. any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks
Raley
with those questions i would recommend taking it to a shop. sorry to tell ya but you don't seem to have the knowledge needed to do this.
Xeryon
A quality service manual, lots of air tools, about $100 in parts and a good 10-12 hours if you have never done one before. Water pump, tensioner and timing belt are done at the same time. Parts are not the problem as they are relatively cheap, the 6 billable hours of labor any shop is going to charge you is the problem. If you can find someone under $750 that you trust you are doing alright.
