Scott Griffin
Currently I have a 2003 Honda Accord EX Coupe V6 automatic. When I first got the car about 4 years ago I was getting about 310 miles to a tankful. Currently I am getting about 260 miles to a tank. Before putting my Cold Air Intake on about 4 months ago I was getting about 280 miles/tank The decrease from the time I installed the CAI and now I understand but anyone know of the best solutions to increasing gas mileage? No I am not removing the CAI
James Matteu
Tune up. Use plugs recommended by Honda, not what the parts guy says. For instance, my v6 uses copper NGKs and not platinum, iridium, etc since copper makes a hotter spark in conjunction with my V6 external coil. The trade off being they wear out fast and I need to be Johnny on Time with maintenance. If I switched to iridium or platinum, they would last longer but produce a cooler spark unless I used a multi-tip design, then I'm spending more on plugs to meet OE spec on spark temp than had I just kept it copper.
