Son drove out of the yard, said something made a kerchunk noise , then the car would not move in any gear, appears to be shifting OK, can move shift lever through the gears without using the clutch, sounds like something is turning inside the transmission, don't think it is a clutch related problem, no grinding when trying to put it in gear. shift fork(s) perhaps? I have repaired my cars since the 60's but know very little about transmissions as I never had a manual trans fail.
